You might have noticed that my usually-strict posting schedule went all to heck last week. I didn’t do my Top 5 Tuesday, I missed the Wednesday Recipe, I avoided that Book Tag in there on Thursday, I skipped the ENG 513 book review on Friday, and I completely lost track of everything on Saturday.
The past few weeks have been super hectic for me. I’m working on a really long final paper for my 513 class, and I’m nowhere near being done with it. I didn’t read one of the books I’m writing about, so I’m making things up as I go along and relying solely on the secondary sources for that part of the paper. (Take note, kids: this is not how you write an essay!)
My car died on me last Saturday (the weekend before Thanksgiving), and so I had to call my mom to give me a jump off and then had to buy a whole new battery at Wal-Mart. I did get two new plants out of the deal, though, so I’m not particularly upset about it. (Mom bought them!)
I spent an entire week with my family, and while I enjoyed not having to pay for any food, I think I almost overstayed my limits with them. I’m so thankful I got to spend some time by myself yesterday before my roommate came back. Just a little bit of being alone is nice every now and then.
I traveled out of state for Thanksgiving last week, and played with the cutest little kitten. I was worried about Thanksgiving, honestly, because one family member in particular was going to be there and I didn’t know how it was going to go. Thankfully, it went a lot better than I was expecting.
I also downloaded the new Animal Crossing Pocket Camp for my phone and I’ve been playing that practically non-stop! While it’s getting a little more frustrating now, because of the limited number of resources and the ridiculous amount of time it now takes to craft some items, I still find it a fun and entertaining way to pass a few minutes while waiting. I want to write an entire article on this later, so keep your eyes peeled for that sometime soon!
I bought only two things during the Black Friday sales: an Echo Dot for my dad for Christmas, and a Tabby Cat Kigurumi. I can’t wait for it to come in, because it’s really cold in my apartment right now because I’m stubborn and don’t wanna turn on the heat yet! As for Cyber Monday deals… I’m looking for parts for the gaming PC I’m hoping to piece together sometime in the near future. I’ve got a list I’m looking for, but some things are out of stock (like the graphics card, one of the major parts), so I’m hoping to get the majority of the other things with my savings today. I want to have the whole thing built by January, I hope.
In other personal news…I went on a date last night! We went and got popsicles at this place called Steel City Pops near the movie theater, and then we went and saw Justice League. I paid for the movie because he forgot his wallet (he is a bit scatterbrained), and he said he would make it up to me “soon,” so I’m hoping on a second date sometime in the near future! We stayed in the freezing parking lot for over an hour talking afterwards, and it was only because he had to get up early to go to work the next day that we parted ways. I didn’t get a kiss, though, so don’t get too excited yet. He did hold my hand during the movie, after an extended period of awkwardness where I didn’t know what to do with myself, but the “romantic” part of the movie I guess encouraged him to make a move. (And, also, if you haven’t seen Justice League yet, go do so! It’s amazing!)
So what’s next?
- Finish my paper (due on Wednesday! Wish me luck!)
- Read Persuasion by Jane Austen (also due on Wednesday, and I have yet to start it…)
- Finalize my reading list for my thesis (I really should’ve done this sooner…)
- Finish the Top 5 Tuesday categories for this month (and finish writing the one from last week!)
- Write up the recipes I tried this past week (I tried two new cookie recipes! It was great!)
- Work on some new book tags (I’ve got several bookmarked but haven’t had the time to work on them yet…)
So if I seem a little out of it, please be patient with me! I’m trying my best but didn’t expect life to hit me as hard as it did this week! I feel like I’ve been hit upside the head with a bat. No idea what I’m gonna do next. I’ve got a loose to-do list, and I’m gonna try to do them, roughly, in the order that I’ve presented them.
How was your Thanksgiving? Any advice for me?
And as always, keep reading.
