I am so close.
So very, very close.
Today I sent off the first part of my thesis to my committee members. This is a 93 page fiction piece, the beginning of what I hope to be my first novel. I sent it in via email today, because I need to give them enough time to read it, and I’ll be turning in a hard copy on Monday along with my critical afterword.
I decided to do an afterword instead of an introduction on the advice of my adviser, who said it would be easier to explain the connections once my committee had actually read the document for themselves.
It’s been a struggle getting this critical part done, though. I’ve had to revise it several times and I am still not happy with it. I’m doing final revisions on it this weekend and it’ll be in the delivery packet on Monday, too. (Wait, is Montevallo even open on Monday?)
I’m almost done. I’m so close. Once I get this turned in, I won’t really have to worry about anything until October 29th. And once I’m done with my defense, I won’t have to worry about anything until December 7th, when I walk across the stage and get my degree!
Yes, I’m two months away from a master’s degree and I’m freaking out about it. I might throw up on Monday after I put the things in those boxes.
So keep me in your thoughts, because this may be the most stressful thing I’ve ever done.
And as always, keep reading.
