Well, might as well end 2019 with a bang, right? Such as participating in the last Top 5 Tuesday (by Bionic Bookworm) of the year! It’s been a while since I’ve participated, but luckily I have an Amazon wishlist full of books that made writing this one easy!
1 – The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden
I got the first two books in this series for Christmas last year but still haven’t read them! I was waiting on the final one to come out in paperback, and now that it has, I think I’m finally ready to embark on this journey!
2 – Atlas Obscura, 2nd Edition
I had the original on my wishlist for so long, and then I found out that they’ve released a second edition! (I also have a pretty good idea that someone has bought this for me for Christmas because if I try to click on it, it pops up with a message saying, “Are you sure you want to view this? Someone might have recently bought it for you!” Thanks for keeping the mystery, Amazon.) I’m a pretty big fan of the Atlas Obscura website (I’ve even submitted a few entries that got accepted, which you can see under my “Published” tab at the top of this page).
3 – A huge list of Redwall Books
I haven’t yet completed my collection of Redwall, so I have seven books still on my wishlist. I’m hoping I’ll get a few of them under the tree this year! (Oops, I’ve added a whole series to my wishlist. I knew that would happen, eventually.)
4 – Romeo and/or Juliet by Ryan North
I have the Hamlet version (To Be Or Not To Be), and didn’t realize he’d written others! I’m interested in seeing how the choose-your-own-adventure path ends up in this particular Shakespeare play, and I want to see if I can get everyone out alive. Or maybe I just want to kill them all. That’s a viable option, isn’t it?
5 – Strange Planet by Nathan Pyle
2019 has been a weird year, for sure, and I’m pretty sure the weird aliens are the biggest (good) thing to come out of this year.
So there you have it, the final Top 5 Tuesday list for 2019! It’s a little bittersweet, and a little exciting. Here’s hoping that 2020 brings us some new topics and a lot of amazing new books!
And as always, keep reading.
